OLA of Eastern Long Island will be presenting our 15th Annual Latino Film Festival for the full weekend Friday, Nov 9 – Sun, Nov 11 at four iconic East End venues: Parrish Art Museum, Guild Hall, and Greenport’s renovated school auditorium. Films from Chile, Mexico, El Salvador, US, and Brazil. 4 films are Spanish language with English subtitles, one is Portuguese language with English subtitles.

Friday, November 9th at Parrish Art Museum, Watermill: (Free for members and $12 for non members). Span/Eng museum tour at 5:30pm with food and drink reception by Golden Pear. Films start at 7pm “A Fantastic Woman” Superb Chilean drama. Winner of 2018 Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. Marina, a transgender woman who works as a waitress and moonlights as a nightclub singer, is distraught over the death of her older boyfriend. R

Producer Juan de Dios Larraín will join Parrish audience via Skype for live Q&A after the film.

Saturday, November 10th at Guild Hall, East Hampton: “La Palabra de Pablo” a seductive thriller from El Salvador. Loosely inspired by Shakespeare’s Othello, La Palabra de Pablo (Pablo’s Word) tells the story of a broken contemporary Salvadorian upper middle-class family -struggling with jealousy and revenge. Doors open 6pm. 7pm film starts. Post show Q&A with actor, Carlos Aylagas

and director, Arturo Menendez, who will fly in from El Salvador for this screening.

Sunday, November 11 at Greenport High School Auditorium, Greenport 2:30pm “Coco” In Spanish with English subtitles for all ages. The story follows a 12-year-old boy named Miguel who is accidentally transported to the Land of the Dead. In addition, the short film from Mexico, “My Fear” by Manfred López Grem. Free admission. Come early for seats and to enjoy an exhibit by Greenport students, inspired by the Mexican tradition – Day of the Dead. G

Sunday, November 11 at Bay Street Theater at 6pm “Before I Forget” Polidoro is living his golden years to the fullest. $10 General $20 Preferred seating. PG13
